Back to Hog Country

We're in the Bham airport on route to Fayetteville to watch the Tide dominate yet another team. Another weekend out of town. What is Birmingham like?

Shhhh....

Dont tell anyone...but i'm officially.....A GLEEK!

That's right. The secret is out. I have been a closet Glee watcher for several months now.  I tried to Netflix the first season, but Jordan caught me, and called me out. So ive been catching random episodes here and there on Hulu or "Glee-Winded" episodes from you tube, so im all caught up. Season 2 premiers tomorrow and I have conspicuously added it to our dvr lineup. Luckily, Tuesday is a slow night for primetime. I'll def catch some hell for this, but i can no longer hide my true self (oddly the theme behind the entire show).

It kinda makes me wish I was in show choir back in the day, but seeing that i didnt make the show choir, i get  a tad bit bitter watching the show. I did get good marks in a solo singing competition in middle school. However, im convinced anyone can sing Amazing Grace with enough practice. My singing career stopped there. Cant wait for tomorrow!

Back in Action

The beach was GLORIOUS! I only wish I could have spent more time there. We couldnt have asked for better weather the whole time we were there. Now its back to the grind, but I do feel refreshed. Also a little tan never hurts.  It's going to be another short week, with us leaving Thursday night for another Arkansas trip. This time to see Bama dominate the Hogs. I should have plenty of good stories following this adventure as we are joining Jordan's cool as hell cousin, andrew, along with his brother Zach, and friends Ross and Brad. Things are never dull around that last crowd, so it should be interesting.

On a dog note, we picked Mac up from World Class Kennels yesterday, and he was in great spirits. That place is a good deal for boarding ($22 a night), and they had an inside & outside run. Sharon, who owns it, was super nice and you could tell she loved all "her dogs" that were guests. However, it's quite a hike to Harpersville, so we might have to reevaluate that. While at the beach, I also started working on my CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation (no, i never really stop working). More on that later, as it's only going to get more consuming.

Alright, off to see what I missed at work last week. latas.

Peace Playas

Starting tomorrow I'm out of commission until next Monday. No, not hospitalization. Im heading to the beach! Finally. Although, I dont leave until Wed b/c I have a short leadership retreat for a new program im doing (like i needed another activity, but whatevs) The whole fam is heading down to St. George Island for some much needed r&r.  This is also the first time we will be boarding Mac. Im not too happy about this, but luckily, my sis found a place out in Harpersville, World Class Kennels, where Mac and her dog, Lucy can be in the same indoor/outdoor run together for the whole weekend. They get along, so im ok with that.

btw, the Bama game was awesome!
I love this sight.

My fav fienbaum callers

Another one of my fav sights. Such an neat game to see with Joe Pa, Bowden, and Saban meeting before the game. I was all nerded up with the historical sports significance.

Also, here is a quick recap of the great Arkansas adventure last weekend:
-13.5 hours to Joplin, MO (we were staying w J's grandma)
-saw ALOT of Arkansas, a state I had never viewed awake

-almost found the duggers, im pretty sure we were only 5 miles away.
-I got to meet new people and see Jordan's family, most of which I hadnt seen since our wedding, but it hardly counted bc it's not easy to see or meet new people at your own wedding.
-I wasnt too thrilled about a rehearsal dinner during a Bama game, but it was actually quite enjoyable

-The wedding was off of Dixon street (which is like 'The Strip' in t-town) However, this was a gem of a place and certainly no Gillettes.

Hi.

I think my phone adds 10 lbs. or i just need to run, gah.

Pre football excitement

If you ask me, SEC football starts this sat with ALABAMA vs. Penn State. In honor of this event, I bring you my favorite new commercial. Love the look on Saban's face. Who knew who was so funny?

Wishing I was elsewhere...

My location a year ago. Time really flies. Can I go back now please?

50 first pounds

My 'puppy' weights 50 pounds. I know this because we had to take him (yet again) to the vet this morning bc of stomach issues. Like father like son. $250 later, i knew his weight, and that he had a stomach, large and small intestines full of food. The dr. thinks he ate something that was stopping him up. He told me he will be shocked if at some point during the next two years, he doesnt have to do surgery on my dog to remove a foreign object.(ie: socks, bottlecaps, raw hides, ect...) Thats what I get for getting a lab, he says. I hope he loses that bet.  Mac is doing better, but will be on his regiment of wet food and nausea medicine for the next few days.

In other news,  I need to post about the Arkansas trip, but i cant at the moment. Im way to consumed with THIS
(scroll down to see the video)

I dont have the words right now, but I will be tuned in on Sept 13th.

Random Thursday Thoughts

Fun Dip may be the best candy ever invented.

Don't put liquid soap into a dishwasher, and then think that "might not do it" and add a cascade pouch. A kitchen full of bubbles will occur.

I wish I knew how to add comments to my re-tweets.

Why cant summer last all year? I get frustrated when season's change. I dont like change.

I heart Rotaract.

Loved that SEC Commissioner Mike Slive refused to say Laine Kiffin's name at said Rotaract meeting today when referring to coaching changes at Tenn.

Speaking of football, I'll be  missing my first Alabama game in several years this weekend. No in person, no tv, radio is a possibility. I'll have to sneak it into a rehearsal dinner.

Who has a wedding over Labor day weekend, first football weekend, in AR, on a Sunday?

Im determined to win yard of the month in October. However, the competition is fierce.

There are no coupon inserts in the paper this weekend.

Okra is the only veggie that makes me smile.

Im sure I will have lots of interesting stories from this wedding weekend with the inlaws. Until then, I give you the state of Arkansas, in all it's glory

I'll be in the upper left hand corner if anyone needs me.
