Buds

I really have nothing exciting to share right now except for my pups, so you get more pics.

These two are getting along splendidly

Mac is getting a serious workout these days trying to keep up with Mia's energy. It seemed like just two weeks ago that mac had this energy as well. Oh how the tables have turned! We also forgot what it was like to have a little pup in the house. We alternate on taking her out at night, which is really the biggest pain of having a puppy. Right now at night she is one a 10, 12, 3, 5 (eat), 7 schedule. Yes, those are the times she needs to be taken out. We alternate. I guess its good training for babies one day. Regardless, we have been lacking in the steady sleep department. I think this has weakened our immunes and costs us to each come down with colds. Oh what we'll do for our animals.

Really MSNBC?

Southern Football msnbc style. An excerpt from the article:

In this state you're either an Alabama or Auburn fan - and declarations of neutrality can draw a disbelieving sneer. Once a year everything nearly comes to a complete stop when Alabama and Auburn lock horns in the Iron Bowl. And after the game ends, people talk about it the rest of the year, oftentimes while sipping sweet tea and eating barbecue.

Come on John Zenor. Im gonna bet everything I own on the fact that that John has never been to an Iron Bowl, much less the South. Why is it necessary to add the second half of the last sentence. I felt like my life was a sterotype by simply reading this paragraph. Im sure he wont believe it, but sometimes I talk about football while eating seared salmon and drinking a nice pinot. Does it always have to be sweet tea and bbq? I almost couldnt finish the article after this sentence, but i out of curisoty of his ignorance, i continued.

Huge Southern Sigh.

Just-a-Mia

It has been a longer than normal absence for me in the blogosphere, but it's been a very abnormal two weeks. Baring too much personal details, ive had some health issues that have have had me sidelined, specifically in the past few days. But im better and looking forward to be getting back to my normal crazy pace. Here's what you've missed.

We impulsively added another member to the family. Meet Mia. She is a 7 week only German Shepard puppy. We have always wanted a German Shepard, and are very excited to have this little girl to take care of. She is quite smart, and loves her older brother Mac. More Mia pictures to follow in the coming days.

Jordan also found one of my new favorite things. The "Skinny Girl" Margarita, Bethany Frankel's company (of Real Housewives of New York & Bethany Getting Married? fame) It's a 100 calorie per serving Marg, and contrary to what many think, i find it to be delicious. For $12 per bottle, i'll take it!

I also finally got my car back. Two weeks and $1,500 dollars later, ive got a new grill, and a serious fear of hitting another deer. Looking into a lower deductible, that was not fun. But, the car looks great, props to Tom Williams Collision Center.

I also was involved in this year's YWCA Kids Korner luncheon last week. It was a fantastic event, and thanks to the charitable people of Bham, and the wonderful ladies (and man) at my table, we raised over $75k for the YWCA's homeless daycare downtown. So fantastic!

A lot a Mac

I thought it was time everyone got a huge dose of Mac. Mostly because he's cute as hell. And also, I forgot I had all these pics on my camera.
This dog length bone was his Christmas present. and he ate it in less than an hour.

These two have quite the love/hate relationship. Mac loves Ellie, she hates Mac.

We get this look from her quite often now. It says, "I hate you, seriuosly."

 Snow Mac.

With his cousins Lucy & Riley at the Dunnavant Trail in Chelsea. Mac hates the water, but he braved it to play with his best buds.

He does look so cute, but he is still getting into EVERYTHING. This morning he ate three bananas, a spatula, and attemped to eat my golf visor. So far as i've been typing he has brought me foil, a swiffer duster and two sweaters. You might be thinking, "Jeris, stop leaving all your shit around the house." Well, these are all items he has MacGrubered from safe places. He has a talent for finding things. At least he usually brings them to me before they get devoured.

Flea finds

Ive been hittin up Leeds and Chelsea lately for those special pieces to finish my living room. So far, I have found some really great deals. Like these two framed British hound hunt prints. Two unique frames in great condition with new beautiful mounts and glass. They were a steal, and my new favorite things.

Im still hanging onto the ship that Spencer sat on, bc it's just too cool, even though its now in rough shape. I also snatched this glass and wood lamp. (it's detail is cool in person) The shade is temporary but currently serving its purpose.
and we have curtains! (thanks mom) I still have to find the perfect table to go between my (still to be recovered) chairs. I have also the frames for this middle wall, but it must all go up at once.

The dining room also got curtains and the antique mirror I snagged at an estate sale.
In April, we are headed to Atlanta for some huge flea market. I cant wait. I might be obsessed....

A weekend with Aunt Jensi

Last weekend, Jensi came to visit and brought her three adorable babies with her. Sawyer (far right), Reux (back middle) & Molly (back left). Of course Mac is up front. The reason for the visit was a friend get together at Sam's house since we were all so busy over the holidays. We had a really fun time catching up and playing with Baby Sam and David.  Sunday morning I made breakfast, and had several bushy tailed sous chefs.

 Sawyer helped with the eggs

Molly & Reaux assisted with the biscuits

In typical male fashion, Mac let everyone else do the work.
We have some pretty good grub by the end
