Two things

1) My passport came in the mail last Thursday. Thank goodness, my trip can commence. Its amazing how quickly a government agency can get something to you when you pay twice as much as normal. Thieves.

2) On the way home from lunch in English Village, in the middle of Mtn. Brook, the police had a roadblock checking... Id's. In the middle of the day. In mtn brook. Can I reiterate this any more? I was so confused. What if I didnt have mine on me? Would they have just ticketed me? I was in the middle of the road, holding up traffic. I sarcastically asked the officer, after I kindly gave him my license, if this was one of the courtesies of mtn brook? He just reminded me that my license expired in December. Well, thanks mr. policeman. Thanks for making sure everyone in mtn brook has updated Id's. I guess since crime is low there they just get bored. Maybe there was an escaped convict on the loose in the Village. who knows. wtf.

Gaston-Eversull Wedding

We had a packed weekend, and I feel like I am just now recovering. Jordan's sister, Emily got married, so we had alot of family in town. Many of the relatives that came for the wedding were ones I have spent little or no time with. They came to our wedding, but I barley remember my vows much less who all was in attendance. So, I got to officially meet people who I can now consider family, and I had a blast with them. Several were Jordan's cousins in from Chicago, New York, and Texas, so even he hardly gets a chance to see them. Others were aunts and uncles who also live far off. I think by the end of the weekend, we had promised to visit all of them. Thats alot of travel, so it might be a busy jet-setting 2010. I need to rack up some amex pnts.

It really was a lovely wedding. Jordan and I were both in it, so of course, we stayed pretty busy. Her dresses were actually one of, if not the most, comfortable bridesmaids dress I have ever worn. So that made the day even more enjoyable. Arden, the photographer from our wedding, took the pictures, so I can wait to see how those turned out since she is fantastic. What is so neat about Emily and Jason is that they incorporated his firefighting into their wedding. Not only did they have a fireman figurine holding the bride on top of the bride's cake, but they actually left the reception on the back of a a Rocky Ridge fire engine. It was actually really neat.

We decided it would be a great idea to have all the cousins over to our place after the reception. The oldest was around 30 and the youngest was 11. It was quite a mixed crowd, but we still managed to have a great time...and break the light in my frig...I think jordan and I both slept around 15 hours on sunday just trying to recover.

A full weekend

This past weekend involved quite alot of stuff into just a few days. First, we found out on Friday night that Olivia had her sweet baby boy, John "David" Reed Jr. I wanted to just head on up there, but I waited since it was late when we got the news. So, we went over to the club to meet up with a new junior member couple for dinner and drinks. We walk in and the new couple has started doing tequila shots right away! Im all about some tequila, but it was 6pm, and I was not feeling that quite yet. Surprisingly the night stayed calm somehow. It's always fun to meet new people. Dont get me wrong, we LOVE our friends but it's fun to meet new people.

Katybeth and I got on the road early Saturday morning to go see Liv, JD and baby David. I wish I had taken pictures, but i was so enthralled with the baby, that I didnt take any. While we were there is was also good to see Jensi and her babies (the pups). When I got back saturday night, Jordan and I went to see the new Judd Apatow movie, "Funny People." It was fantastic! I am trying to get Jordan to post his thoughts, but he says he needs to see it again to make sure he didnt miss anything. That means we probably wont hear from Jordan. But, in my opinion, it was hilarious. I knew it was a drama going in, so I knew not to compare it to The Hangover, or Knocked Up. Plus I love seth rogan & jason swarzman. Adam Sandler was even really good in this. I dont think his recent movies have been that great. Its worth seeing in the theater.

Sunday we hit the links and played 9 holes with some new friends, Artie and Erin. We had never played golf with another couple, and it was a blast. My game is steadily improving, and I want to play as much as I can while the weather is still this nice. After golf we went over to my parents house to celebrate Kimberly and Jeff's birthdays. When we finally got home, we just crashed and watched Entourage. Tired. Next weekend wont be much different since we are gearing up for Jordan's sister, Emily's wedding. Time to rest up.

Masters of Misplacement

I do not like losing things. Who does really? My passport is still missing. Jordan and I tore up the house the past two nights try to find it. He swears the cats have taken it somewhere because they did that with his. Luckily, we found his in their hiding place in the back of our closet. Mine was not there though. So, with time running out until my trip, i went ahead and renewed my passport at the Vestavia post office. So, $200 later, it should be here in less than 2 weeks. I also found out during this mess that my original birth certificate has been lost. Luckily, my parents, being the awesome people they are, made certified copies of all of ours in 1988. Kudos Beck and Jerry.

While we're on the subject, Ive also misplaced my Masters Diploma. I dont know whats wrong with me. Since i'm going back to Dublin I figured that would be the perfect time to get a replacement diploma. Easier said than done. Apparently many Irish Universities have been having issues with people forging degrees in order to get a better job. So, not only will the replacement cost me $165, but will have the word DUPLICATE written on it in two places. OR, I can have a black and white copy in English (instead of Latin). So unnecessarily complicated. My mom and I are going to search the closets before I go, but I might just have to bite the bullet and get the duplicate. uuhhhhh

Caddy Skank

This is me golfing....HAHA. obviously kidding. Today I had my last group golf lesson for the summer, and instead of an actual lesson at the range, the plan was to play the first three holes of the Founders course. Jordan had gotten a new driver and it was still at the pro shop, so I grabbed that and headed off to the first tea box. My drive was BEAUTIFUL, and I attributed it much to the lessons and alot to the pimp club i was using. (Normally I use my mother in laws clubs that are great, but just a bit outdated, hence stealing jordan's). After this great shot I had a "golf high." Which of course meant my next 9 shots sucked (and yes, that was just the first hole). You see, golf is a rollercoaster of a game. One minute you are on top of the world b/c your game is amazing, and the next minute you want to quit. Unfortunately, the competitive bitch that I am wont let this get the better of me....I almost parred the second hole. In actuality, I double boogied it, but it was almost a par.

The problem with golf is that it is much too like my work. The constant ups and downs are similar and frustrating. Most people use golf as a stress reliever, but not me. Normally I'm out there stressed out and cursing like a sailor. So why do I play you ask? Well, not only is this a male dominated sport of business that I feel is essential that I learn, but it is also enormously challenging. So in my screwed up competitive mind, I enjoy it.

Needless to say, after two holes, we went in for drinks....I love golf.

Issues

I thought i was done with this show, but unfortunately i forgot about the "after the final rose ceremony." It was boring, but of course i watched it. Jillian and Ed are still happy. The other two are still bitter. Now I am officially done. No more wasting blog space.
In other news im having a bit of a crisis. For the past two and a half years I have been organized when it comes to my identification. Now, with t-minus one month until i go out of the country again, I have no idea where ive placed my passport. Up until a month ago it was in my special drawer in our buffet. However, now I have NO idea where it could be. I know ive "hidden" it from myself thinking, "this will be a good place to keep it safe." Well, it wasnt. So, i'm giving myself until tomorrow (in order to check the office) and then I will have to reapply. My passport expires in less than two years anyway, so its not awful. But, i leave in less than a month and it takes 2-3 weeks to get a passport, and that is when it is expedited. Also it costs an extra $100. Great. So, if anyone remembers where I have hid my passport, please inform me.

Also, why do people have 18 children? (too much TLC)

Nurse Carmella

The Mr. and I are huge Soprano fans. Great show. So, I was excited to hear that Edie Falco was back (albeit on showtime) in Nurse Jackie. In short, she's a head nurse, who is also a pill addict, and is having an affair with the hospital pharmacist. So, the show centers around her balancing her double life. One at home with her husband and kids, the other at the hospital with all the characters and stresses of work. She sounds like a horrible person by this description, but her main priority is making sure her patents get the best care possible; hence always doing "good deeds." Ive been watching Nurse Jackie now for about a month. It still has me watching, so it's interesting, but not compelling. Edie is definitely a fantastic actress, but I dont know how long the show will last.

Whats with his shorts?

In other news, the last episode of The Bachelorette was tonight Thank goodness. Im so sick of that show and all the melodrama associated. Luckily she did choose Ed, although the editing made it seem like she really wasnt that interested until the end. Reid will prob be the next Bachelor, but I WILL NOT be watching. I have to say goodbye to this show forever. Its just stupid. Sorry fans out there, I just cant deal with it. If I wanted to watch someone makeout with several guys during one night, I would go back to college frat parties. Its just not entertaining. But, I hope they get married, have lots of babies, and live happily ever after. Bah.
